Although with its massive head and three horns it offered the perfect defense against any would be attacker such as Tyrannosaurus rex. Triceratops roamed in great herds throughout western North America, and in a similar way to modern day elephants Triceratops would protect their young from predators whilst on the move by keeping them in the centre of the herd.
